The Wakpa Triennial assembles over forty artists who represent the full spectrum of the Twin Cities' artistic community—established masters and emerging voices, multiple generations, diverse cultural heritages, and a range of artistic disciplines.

The roster includes artists at the beginning of their careers, artists working outside traditional institutional pathways, Indigenous artists centering Dakota presence, and artist collectives pooling their vision. It reflects neighborhoods across Saint Paul and Minneapolis, languages and traditions spanning continents and centuries, and artists shaped by formal training alongside self-taught practitioners.

This is not a curated elite but an equitable gathering: a cross-section of the creative intelligence and cultural wealth already alive in this community, now united around a single river, a single moment, and a single invitation to pause.
